The LED company that just sold a ton of LED fixtures to the Pentagon won a silver in the International Design Excellence Award (IDEA)'s EcoDesign contest this year. Cree seems to be on a roll! After that sale of over 4200 fixtures at around $380 a pop to the Pentagon, it seems they're doing quite well.The source that scored a silver - the LR6 LED Recessed Downlight - has around 50% less energy usage than a compact fluorescent and 85% less than an incandescent.
