There is a pretty cool philosophy at ETC – as you walk around the place, you’ll notice carpet in places that normally wouldn’t have carpet, and concrete floors in places that you would think should be carpeted. Fred’s philosophy (and of course I’m paraphrasing) is that just because someone is in management doesn’t mean that they should have special creature comforts over people in the factory. Management offices get no natural light, but they have floor to ceiling windows on one wall. Lower management and people who are not management get natural light windows and are positioned on the outside wall of the complex. Pretty cool!
